About Mia's family

Jean and Michael live with their single dad. Since fleeing domestic violence, dad has reached out to Firefly for help navigating the court system in order to keep his children safe. Despite facing many barriers in the court system, he continues to fight for his children's safety and well-being. Dad is a great advocate for himself and his kids. He's a great dad that tries to empower his children to be successful and happy even when faced with adversity.

Jean, 11, is the oldest child of the family. Dad describes her as always being a lover of everything. She loves to learn anything and everything. She wants to be the best she can be at the hobby of choice. Jean is big into art. A true researcher of things that grasp her attention, if she is new to a subject, topic, or lifestyle, she digs deep to find out everything she can about it. She loves the Monster High TV show and enjoys playing with Monster High dolls.

Michael is the baby of the family. At 9 years old, he is quick with math. He was drawn to math at a very young age, which has helped him when it came to thing such building. He is fast at building Legos and anything requiring a mathematical problem. Recently, he has starting being more drawn to music and exploring hobbies outside of his comfort zone.
