Every year, hundreds of youth age out of foster care in Indiana. The transition to independence can be tough! Young people in Firefly’s Older Youth Services program have elected to build their skills and self-reliance with help from a case worker. Most either work full-time or attend school with part-time employment. It means so much to these young adults to know someone is in their corner - especially during the holidays!

At 22 years old, Lucas is a friendly and outgoing young man who values connection and good conversation. He enjoys spending time with friends, often chatting about life, ideas, and shared interests. At the end of a long day, he loves to relax with video games or unwind by taking peaceful walks in the park. He’s also a big fan of anime and enjoys streaming his favorite shows on Crunchyroll. Lucas’s favorite colors—white, black, and light blue—mirror his calm, balanced personality. With his confidence and caring heart, Lucas is paving his own bright and steady path toward the future.
